Spice Route Wines has once again performed exceptionally well at the National Wine Challenge awards, with five of its wines receiving top honours. The premier event, now in its seventh successful year, was held on 26 April 2017 in Cape Town and played host to some of South Africa’s leading fine wines.
The National Wine Challenge pays homage to South Africa’s Top 100 wines each year and scores them across its stellar categories. Each wine is objectively and independently assessed ensuring great care and professional diligence. Independent auditors are enlisted to review the results and validate the selection process.
Spice Route dominated the Double Platinum/Top 100 category, with its Amos Block Perpetual Reserve NV, Saffron Rosé 2016 and Terra de Bron Grenache 2015 each receiving an award. The Grand Cru National ‘Best in Class’ award went to both the spectacular Amos Block Perpetual Reserve NV and exotic Saffron Rosé 2016. Two of Spice Route’s most popular flagship wines, the Malabar 2013 and Chakalaka 2014, were awarded Double Gold.
This fine selection of wines is available at the Spice Route Tasting Room located at Spice Route Destination in Paarl.
