Kwa-Zulu Natal-based interiors professionals take note – Decorex Durban is looming on the horizon. This not-to-be-missed professional event takes place over a four-day period, from 19-22 March 2020, at the Durban Exhibition Centre. It’s time to update that work portfolio with the industry’s new colours, fittings, finishes, materials, soft accessories, furnishings and styles
Decorex Durban serves as a showcase of the latest trends and infinite possibilities offered by the world of interior decor and design. The show brings together leading decorators, designers and manufacturers to create a wealth of exciting stands and installations that are geared towards offering ideas on how to incorporate the latest trends into your working world and express them in your client projects.
As the region’s premier platform for interior designers and decorators to showcase their talents, visitors can rub shoulders with some of the most influential people in the industry. Not only can members of the trade network with their peers, they can also view the best-in-class room displays created by their contemporaries, access the Trade Business Lounge to have meaningful meetings with exhibitors, complimentary access to the Industry Networking evening and gain insight to the latest products on show.
In addition, leading national and KwaZulu-Natal-based fittings and finishings suppliers will be purveying their latest ranges, applications and colourways at the show. As one of the longest standing décor and interior design exhibition platforms in Africa, Decorex Africa aims to bring world-class exhibitors to members of the trade, whilst showcasing living trends. This makes Decorex Durban a one-stop sourcing shop for trade professionals who want to ensure that their projects remain current and relevant.
The show looks to demonstrate the latest trends for the trade by bringing them to life within the key feature stands at the show. Here are a few of the must-see trend features at Decorex Durban.
Take a snap | Insta-Interiors
You’d have to be living under a rock not to know that Instagrammability is a factor in interior design these days. The success of a space in this hyper visual age is often measured by how photographable it is – its aesthetic x-factor, if you will. Always in step with what’s current, Decorex is excited to introduce Insta-Interiors – a new feature and visual feast that will pinpoint global trends for 2020. These trends include New Nordic, Afro/Tribal Meets European, Modern Chinoiserie, Contemporary Organic or Neon, via dynamic roomsets designed to be captured and shared. Each room will reflect the lifestyle of a Durbanite through the use of popular trends which will be conceptualised by a different interior designer alongside a local influencer.
Journey Home | Mobelli Furniture’s Urban Living by Design
Furniture and interior design brand Mobelli will spearhead the Urban Living by Design stand also known as the ‘Trend House’, an inspiring home-style array of room settings conceived by Decorex Durban’s very own Creative Director Anita Bloom. Designed to reflect both the unique Durban lifestyle as well as the show’s theme ‘Lifestyle by Design’, this feature stand consists of a series of aspirational spaces.
Trend Installation | 2020
Bloom will highlight her top 10 trends – taken from her 2020 trend report – in situ in this exciting new feature. Visitors will be able to conceptualize and identify the various trends as they peruse the aisles and take in all the show has to offer.
Maison & Objet-Inspired Pavilion
This exclusive Design Pavilion will showcase design disciplines ranging from home décor to interior design, architecture, lifestyle and culture. Decorex Africa is part of the Reed Exhibitions stable, the organisers of the globally renowned Maison & Objet décor trade show in Paris, France – hence the connection.
