The OnTrend Box – an exciting new design installation – has recently popped-up at home finishing showroom, Florstore OnTrend in Sea Point. From specification right through to final installation, Florstore OnTrend is your go-to destination for all flooring and home finishing needs. The OnTrend Box is designed to showcase the many products available at Florstore OnTrend, providing designers and homemakers with ideas and inspiration to be used in their own spaces. The OnTrend Box will be redecorated every season, and to kick-off, Brenda Hart and Gillian Goodwin from 89 Interior Design display their talents in a Spring 2015 bathroom design. Drawing from Florstore’s wide product selection, the designers have created an arresting contemporary chevron wall design using water-resistant vinyl from Aspen and Belgotex that is complemented by inlayed mirror and coloured-templated glass by Facet Glass. The flooring includes a slightly mottled charcoal tile from Tiletoria, laid in a strip-like fashion, and offset with a marble lookalike tile from WOMAG, as well as a freestanding, sculptured basin; also compliments of WOMAG. Final touches include a super slick Raindance Select shower system by Hansgrohe and Glow Innovation’s custom designed square metal tube towel rail, elegantly suspended from the ceiling. Metallic shades are [...]

What was previously a more formal and traditional restaurant, Wagon Trail Brewery, has been transformed into a directional and contemporary destination that houses a new 500litre microbrewery. In addition to the brewery and brewer’s laboratory in full view of visitors, an on-site deli is near to completion and will make Anura’s own wines and cheeses available alongside a selection of fine cuts of meat from 12 Pigs charcuterie. The brewery itself features a variety of lagers and ales brewed by Lance Bouma. “I always wanted to try brewing beer and after seeing the craft beer equipment at a show overseas, I took the plunge and ordered it,” he explains. “There was a lot of brainstorming about where to put the brewery and how to sell the beer,” he continues. “We then had the idea of closing our original restaurant, and starting afresh – with the brewery, wines, cheeses and charcuterie being the focal point of the restaurant.
