Challenging the way that people view cannabis by elevating the aesthetics of the cannabis consumption experience is what KushKush is all about. So is building a community of enlightened and educated high-end consumers who stand to gain from the myriad recreational and medicinal benefits that cannabis offers. Founder Jo Hope, a fashion and lifestyle entrepreneur, was inspired to start www.kushkushonline.com after a disappointing experience in a “head shop” selling cannabis paraphernalia. This was the start of KushKush: a carefully curated e-commerce and content platform aimed at mostly women (but also men); from the merely canna-curious to the experienced toker. The idea was to offer beautiful products in an informative and positive environment that reinvented calcified perceptions. ‘Our mission is to cultivate a refreshing and inspired representation of cannabis culture, in South [...]

If you’re thinking that the words ‘chocolate’ and ‘bark’ don’t really seem to belong together, worry not! In this super-quick and easy-to-follow recipe, you’ll learn how to throw together a few simple ingredients to create a delicious, deconstructed dessert that’s as eye-catching as it is delicious. Just remember, you’re using canna-butter in this recipe, so test the strength of this key ingredient before starting, then get busy with your ‘bark’ – bite-sized shards of white chocolate, infused with cannabis-buttered pistachios. Decorate with dried berries, desiccated coconut and edible spring flowers for a pretty dessert platter with a punch. Ingredients for Cannabutter • 1 cup cannabis • 1 cup butter • 2 cups of water Tools for Cannabutter • Hand grinder or scissors • Baking dish • Medium saucepan • Wooden spoon • Thermometer • Cheesecloth and/or metal strainer • Oven Method for Cannabutter STEP ONE: DECARBOXYLATION The first step of the process is called decarboxylation. This just means that the flower must be heated slowly at a low temperature in order to activate the psychoactive potential, and helps the lipids in the butter bind to the cannabis. If you skip this step, you’ll have a weak or inactive [...]

Now that South Africans are legally able to possess and cultivate cannabis for personal use, there’s a growing demand for high-quality products and advice. KushKush (www.kushkushonline.com) is just the place to find all this – and more! The recently launched female-focused online platform, which is owned and managed by women, for women, has something for everyone, from regular recreational or medicinal users to the canna-curious who merely want to be informed. As a holistic channel, KushKush’s aim is to empower women in the areas of health, wellness, beauty, nutrition, exercise, fashion, sex and business. It is Africa’s first cannabis platform that is oriented toward a female consumer. The platform was started to cater specifically to this burgeoning sector of the market. Before launching, KushKush conducted a research survey, which shows that most female consumers use cannabis products for relaxation, stress release and better sleep, but they would also love to find out more about how this miracle plant can be used for skincare, mental health and wellness, and enhanced creativity. These insights guide the KushKush offering. This includes anything from stylish apparel and accoutrements, to medicinally oriented journals, to recipe books and intimacy oils – all of which are linked [...]
