Littlegig, the world’s only 24-hour, all-inclusive, curated festival, returns to Wiesenhof Farm in Cape Town from 28-29 January 2017 with a progressive line-up of highly coveted experiences spanning international music, food tastings, art, fashion, design and fine wine. The festival boasts a high-level, tutored Littlegig Wine Tasting that features wines which have been handpicked by top local winemaker, Miles Mossop. Mossop, the winemaker at Tokara and Miles Mossop Wines, was invited to curate the Wine Tasting at Littlegig 2017 after hosting Littlegig’s previous tutored tasting at the inaugural festival. The 2016 Littlegig Wine Tasting was such a successful aspect of the first event that it has now become entrenched in the festival programme as a vital ingredient in the carefully edited foodie offering – one that includes a feast by “wonder chef” Rasmus Munk from the Alchemist restaurant in Copenhagen, Denmark. Mossop’s 2017 Littlegig Wine Tasting focuses on wines that hail from the Simonsberg region, which is the same area where Littlegig festival is held. But the choice is not a sentimental one. The Simonsberg is one of the country’s top wine-producing areas, home to many well-established farms that consistently produce award-winning wines. Mossop has chosen a selection of wines which [...]

Littlegig, the world’s first 24-hour, curated, “all-included” festival, returns to Cape Town in 2017 with an eclectic line-up of international talent in music, food and design. Taking place at Wiesenhof farm in Stellenbosch from 28-29 January 2017, Littlegig’s music lineup is headlined by DJ Culoe de Song, an internationally-acclaimed proponent of African House; German electronic DJ/violinist, Seth Schwarz; Los Angeles-based DJ/producer Captain Planet; and award-winning local singer/songwriter Nakhane Touré. In addition, there is a host of talented acts that fill the festival programme. Johannesburg-based international DJ/producer Culoe de Song’s music has been described as ‘epic African house with a strange touch.’ His international success over the past few years is testament to his ability to segue international and African sounds, mixing the best beats from both worlds. A protégé of Black Coffee, Culoe now releases globally with German label Innervisions and has played at top tier parties including the coveted DC-10 Circo Loco in Ibiza, Watergate and Fabric. Culoe will be playing a 3-hour back-to back sundowner DJ set with executive producer Strat3gy (who is also a partner at House Afrika record label and Black Coffee’s Africa Rising). Seth Schwarz is the headline DJ for Littlegig’s Night Stage, held on [...]

Littlegig, the world’s only all-inclusive 24-hour festival, returns to Wiesenhof Farm in Cape Town for the second time, from 28-29 January 2017 with a progressive line-up of highly coveted experiences spanning international music, food tastings, fashion, fine art and design. Littlegig is the first festival of its kind to include access to carefully handpicked events, food, drinks and accommodation in the ticket price. This year’s event will once again inspire lovers of art and design by showcasing new bespoke pieces created by upcoming furniture designer Xandre Kriel, a sculptural installation by fine artist Rowan Smith, and a live painting performance by rising star, Atang Tshikare. These highlights are featured alongside a glittering array of custom-designed installations staggered throughout the festival landscape. Some wildly popular elements from the inaugural Littlegig event will return to contribute to the spirit of the 2017 event. Together, stimulating installations and themed zones by leading stylists will make for a heady visual and sensory feast. The art and design elements running throughout Littlegig are there not for design’s sake alone, but have been carefully chosen to enhance the overall experience. The Gin Bar installation designed by leading local designer Porky Hefer for the first Littlegig festival [...]

Littlegig Festival offers an irresistible, curated menu featuring an international Chef’s Table under the moonlight, an all-star Chef-and-Farmer’s Tasting, tutored Wine Tastings, pop-up bars and all-day feasting! Rather than playing second fiddle to the international music acts and local headliners, the curated food offering at Littlegig Festival 2017 is also a star of the show! While the 2016 event had award-winning local chef, Bertus Basson, at its helm, the second edition of Littlegig, which runs from 28-29 January 2017 at Wiesenhof Farm in Stellenbosch, takes things on the culinary front to the next level. Littlegig is the country’s only all-included, 24-hour, curated festival of food, wine, music, art, design and fashion. So all the delectable food and drink on offer is included in the ticket price – with the exception of the international Chef’s Table presented by global wonder chef, Rasmus Munk, of Alchemist restaurant in Copenhagen, Denmark. There’s an abundance of all-day food presented by top caterer Annalize Sainsbury of Escoffier. The fare focuses on hearty, unfussy yet fabulous meals suited to a festival environment. That’s not forgetting the complimentary convenience store, if extra sweet treats are in order! In addition, the Saturday afternoon sees a Chef-and-Farmer’s Tasting presented [...]

Top couturiers like Valentino, Gucci and Dolce & Gabbana are doffing a feathered, bejeweled cap to festival fashion, and for good reason. Tribal influences, fringing and embellishment have been hot on the style radar for some time now, propelled to a large degree by a new wave of festive events that push the boundaries of self-expression and creativity. Littlegig is just such an event. It was founded in 2016 by former fashion magazine writer/editor, Georgia Black, and is the country’s only 24-hour, all-inclusive, curated festival. “Festival fashion is not about feather boas and glitter hats from Chinese stores,” she states. “It’s a major international trend.” Littlegig 2017 has a progressive line-up of highly curated experiences spanning international music, food tastings, art, design, and most importantly in this case, concept fashion. Littlegig encourages the creative freedom that is the heritage of the carnival. This call is clearly taken up by Littlegig patrons, whose flamboyant and imaginative style is as much a festival attraction as the official programme itself. “Littlegig is a creativity-led festival and dressing up is at its heart,” explains Black. “It just happened organically.” At the inaugural Littlegig festival in 2016, Black enhanced this element of the event by [...]
