99 Juta is a new development in Braamfontein. This refurbishment is the collaborative vision of property developers Consolidated Urban, Play Braamfontein and product designers Dokter and Misses. It is conveniently situated in the popular neighbourhood of Braamfontein, close to the Gautrain, major circulation routes and local amenities. Architects, Local Studio headed up the refurbishment with interiors and fittings designed by by Dokter and Misses who’s showroom occupies one half of the first floor. This new design-focused address’ pink and emerald green tiled facade is sure to turn heads. Two colourful inner courtyards flanked by high-rises provide sanctuary inside one of Joburg’s stand-out neighbourhoods. Transparent partitioning connects eight spaces over four floors, optimises natural light and encourages visitors to explore by means of the original steel and timber staircase that remains intact. 99 is the new home to local product designers Joe Paine, Mash.T Design Studio, Monique Vee and The Urbanative. Alongside these permanent fixtures a program of design-centric pop-ups will run; currently featured are wood-masters Houtlander, Common Threads a textile exhibition curated by The Ninevites and ceramic showcase titled 99½ Vases. Little is known about the building’s history as the original plans had been lost and with it, any record [...]

South Africa’s leading designer and manufacturer of office furniture, Ergoform, has branched out from its home base of Cape Town to open a brand new showroom in the décor hub of Kramerville, Johannesburg. Situated in close proximity to other interior design stores and top fabric houses, the new Ergoform showroom is perfectly positioned to cater to interior design, décor and architectural design professionals as well as members of the public. After long-term [...]
