Posie’s – an exciting new café destination with unique retro features – has just opened at C20 Galerie. Located in Cape Town’s hip and trendy Woodstock precinct, C20 Galerie is an interiors destination store that sells mid-century modern collectibles and a range of revamped pieces. The vibrant new coffee shop is named after the daughter of the owner, Emma de Crespigny, a design dealer and collector who studied at Cooper–Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum in New York. As to be expected, Posie’s offers freshly brewed coffee and a variety of delicious pastries. Posie’s will be introducing a line of gluten-free sweets and will be expanding their existing menu to include a breakfast and light lunch option. Posie’s also boasts an eclectic mix of modern and vintage style décor that creates a unique atmosphere – great for inspiring creativity and social engagement! The walls of the coffee shop act as a temporary gallery space for well-known local artists. Visitors to the coffee shop are also welcome to wander through the adjacent C20 Galerie showroom, where a variety of original 20th century furnishings, lighting, and decorative pieces from France, Germany, North America and Italy are on display. What’s more, the owner [...]

BOS is a proudly South African ice tea company known for its striking branding, brightly coloured packaging and iconic Afro identity. “Not just an ice tea”, BOS likes to engage, have fun, give joyful experiences and share a sense of life and living. After working together on the BOS Expo stand in 2012, BOS commissioned Haldane Martin to design the interior for its new office extension. The BOS offices are located in Fairweather House in the centre of Woodstock’s creative business hub, an old industrial building converted into office space that houses art galleries, a publisher and small local businesses. BOS wanted to create a bright, colourful and casual work environment that would add a splash of colour and flavour to the office block. BOS’s office extension includes a new reception area, an ice tea bar, a hot desk for sales and marketing, and meeting spaces. Throughout the space, design elements speak to the primary colour scheme of the BOS brand, while the repetition of circular elements reinforce the shape of the company logo. The reception incorporates the BOS Expo stand designed by Haldane Martin, which includes a prime place for the the award-winning BOS Vending Robot that urges consumers to “tweet for tea”.
With a Masters in History of Decorative Art and Design from Parsons, in conjunction with the prestigious Cooper Hewitt Design Museum in New York, Emma de Crespigny is an expert collector and producer of a wide range of desirable interior objet, ranging from furniture to glassware. Her recently opened C20 Galerie, located in Cape Town’s trendy Woodstock precinct, functions as both shop and showroom, targeting architects, interior designers and collectors, as well as members of the public. The galerie is open weekdays and by appointment. De Crespigny recently relocated from New York to Cape Town to open her new destination store. After a ten-year apprenticeship to a prominent 20th century dealer in Manhattan, de Crespigny has developed a keen eye for rare and obscure pieces. The distinguishing feature of the aptly named C20 Galerie is the inclusion of truly unique and original 20th century pieces from France, Germany, North America and Italy. World renowned furniture designer Vladimir Kagan, who designs for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, describes Galerie as ‘an impressive collection of vintage furniture’, stating that ‘anyone in the market for period modern furnishings and accessories can certainly find happiness in (this) store’. On top of her skilful acquisition [...]
