Herman Miller Aeron Chair Review by Lauren Shantall

I recently sought treatment from a biokineticist after having the unfortunate experience of dislocating my hip and he suggested I invest in a better chair to alleviate some of the discomfort I was feeling during my work day.

I decided to give Herman Miller’s iconic Aeron chair a test run for a few weeks to see if it made any difference. My regular desk chair is fairly traditional in design and has a mesh back and hard padded seat. The carbon classic weave seat and back of the Aeron took some getting used to at first but I quickly became accustomed to the way it conformed to the shape of my body. I especially appreciated the setting that allows the chair to move as you do, which made standing up effortless and pain-free.

Having used the Aeron for a few weeks, I’m pleased to report back that I was able to stay seated for longer without experiencing any discomfort, which ultimately resulted in far more productive work days. I was also pleased to note that the Aeron comes with a 12-year guarantee, making it an affordable investment when compared to replacing my traditional chair every three years.

There is no denying that the Aeron is a superior seating option in terms of both comfort and ergonomics – I highly recommend!
