Realised through meticulous hand-crafting of brass and tinted glass, the Bijou is an elemental play of reflection. Designer Adam Court says “The Bijou is the result of a fascination with eroded stone and gem forms found in nature as with a piece of bespoke of jewellery. It is a play on asymmetry, reflection and the beauty of organic form.” The Bijou has two shelves or hemispheres. The top shelf is made of tinted glass, which does not fill the whole surface and gives way to “windows” either side. The effect rendered is that of diamond set in gold. This elemental and luxurious effect is further articulated by the bottom shelf made of mirror polished brass. Solid brass legs step and taper to a fine profile, the upper section brushed, the lower sections fine polished. Upon Request: Custom oxidized and patinated brass finishes available as well as optional granite or marble inserts.

DESIGN Quintessentially Ellerman House, BAR ROC’s tailored interior has a tangible sense of distilled calm and languid luxury; here time is irrelevant, the art is sentience. The precisely articulated material palette is raw, brutal, sumptuous. Exacting design allows each finish to express itself with clarity and integrity, revealing and accentuating the linear, rigorous elegance of the space. BAR ROC emits an evocative lustre truly in keeping with the attitude and resonance of Ellerman House. A relaxed, contemporary space for friends to gather at the end of the day and chat about the incredible adventure they find themselves on. A space for the classic raconteur to wax lyrical about his or her African escapades. A space to say goodnight to another glorious day while watching the sun set over the Atlantic Ocean. This is BAR ROC. ELLERMAN HOUSE Ellerman House is the ultimate urban retreat for discerning luxury travellers wanting complete exclusivity and privacy in Cape Town. Located in Bantry Bay, it offers spectacular Atlantic Ocean views against the dramatic backdrop of Lion’s Head. Clifton’s beaches are within walking distance, while the best local attractions are a 10-minute drive away. The historic Cape Edwardian-style mansion has 11 rooms and 2 suites, [...]
