This September marks the start of Spring and Organic Month – a month-long celebration of organic products, brands, producers and farmers taking place across the world. It’s also Heritage Month here in South Africa. To celebrate the forward-thinking global organic movement and as part of its dynamic Heritage Month programme, Cultivate marketplace in Salt River, Cape Town is hosting a lively talk on Biodynamic Viticulture followed by a tutored organic wine tasting on the evening of Wednesday 15 September. The dynamic double bill is free to the public and kicks off at 17h30 with a 30-minute talk and 15-minute audience Q&A session with Angus McIntosh aka Farmer Angus. This is chased by a tasting of Spier’s internationally recognised organic wines, that is hosted by Spier organic winemaker and Cultivate member Tania Kleintjes, and which starts at 18h30. There is no booking required for either event and strict COVID-19 protocols will be observed.
What are the hottest décor, interior design and lifestyle trends for 2020? Creative Director Anita Bloom reveals all in the Decorex Africa Trend Report 2020 – the definitive guide to what’s in vogue. After years of enjoying industrial, Nordic and navy design trends, be prepared for a shift towards something more eclectic – the coexistence or unification of different styles that reflect good taste and personality. The report provides a tantalising glimpse of what to expect from Decorex 2020 in Durban, Cape Town and Joburg, when designers and manufacturers showcase all the latest trends, concepts and products that will guide and inspire our interiors. The broad themes emphasised in the report will be featured in the Mobelli Furniture + Living Trend House – Urban Living by Design, Insta-Interiors and Trend Installation as well as pop-up restaurants, cafés and feature areas at each show.
