Shop, Pack and Wrap your shoebox at The Little Elves Pop-Up Shop

The Little Elves Pop-Up Shop

3 October 2014 Visit The Little Elves Pop-Up Shop at Canal Walk Shopping Centre during October to shop, pack and wrap your shoebox for the 2014 annual Santa Shoebox Project Christmas gifting campaign. In the spirit of giving back to the community, Good Hope FM has created a life-size shoe box ‘shop’ that will stock everything required to fill a festive shoebox for girls and boys aged three to seven, to be delivered to children across the Western Cape in time for Christmas.

The pop-up shop will be located in the Centre Court of Canal Walk Shopping Centre from Friday 3rd to Sunday 26th October, open daily from 10am to 7pm. The Little Elves Pop-Up Shop, designed by Inhouse Brand Architects, will cater for casual shoppers and existing Santa Shoebox pledgers and will offer the convenience of shopping for all the items on the predetermined shopping list, within a dedicated space.  The standard shopping list ensures that each child receives a toothbrush and toothpaste, soap and washcloth, a toy, sweets, an outfit of clothing and an educational item.

Why You Should Visit The Little Elves Pop-Up Shop

The Good Hope FM pop-up shop supported by Pick n Pay will cater for anyone who has already pledged as a donor with the organisation and also encourages new shoebox pledges – on site registration and pledging allows shoppers to support the initiative easily and quickly.  Anyone who is not already registered to pledge a shoebox is encouraged to visit the pop-up shop, even if just to buy one or two items or add towards a box, “Every year we work as hard as we can to ensure that every child on our name-list receives a pledged box and this year we are hoping that The Little Elves Pop-Up Shop will help us to reach new supporters, and to grow our reach even more within the community of the Western Cape. We are thrilled to see our initiative coming to life like this!” explains Irené Pieters, National Coordinator, Santa Shoebox Project. All the filled shoeboxes will be handed over to the Santa Shoebox Project at the CTICC on the 31st of October.

Like-minded in their continued efforts to engage with the community in which they operate, Pick n Pay jumped at the opportunity to be the dedicated retail partner for the concept providing donated product for the first 1000 boxes, filled and pledged during the activation. Any funds raised from the sale of the donated stock will be filtered back into the shop to purchase more stock, with the aim of donating as many full shoeboxes to The Santa Shoebox Project as possible during the month of October. “Getting behind the Santa Shoebox Project to bring their hugely impactful initiative to life is a wonderful opportunity for us to help make a real impact within the community that we operate, we encourage our listeners to please come and visit the shop and get involved!” says Meegan Kieffer, Marketing Manager, Good Hope FM.
