Staccato and Wake by Kelly Wearstler

Kelly Wearstler’s latest designs for The Rug Company encapsulate her signature style of contrasting the raw with the refined, transforming understated references into highly decorative and beautiful rugs.

Wake and Staccato are hand knotted using the finest hand spun Tibetan wool and silk yarns. The motifs are carefully depicted in silk, contrasting with the matte wool background. The natural shimmer of the silk yarns intensifies the metallic allure of the gold, shiver and pewter tones, translating her artuful designs into glamour, timesless pieces.

Kelly Wearstler says of her new designs, “I am consistently inspired by raw, painterly silhouettes. The graceful imperfections and idiosyncrasies of hand painted designs possess so much soul. The Staccato pattern has a sense of depth and movement highlighted by a subdued, tonal colour palette. It makes a quiet statement while adding dimension and spirit to any space.”

“Wake is a hand painted design that draws inspiration from the fluidity and movement of water. It is a confident yet transitional pattern. The intricacy of the line work feels sophisticated and elegant in any space, while layered hues channel a sense of rich dimension and texture.”

The rugs have been hand knotted by highly skilled artisans in Nepal, using age-old weaving techniques. The designs are available from the stock in a number of sizes, and can be custom ordered to suit any specific requirements.
