See the world through concrete sunglasses! The country’s most supportive art and design prize, the PPC Imaginarium Awards, is exhibiting the work of its 55 finalists, including that of its Overall Winner, Category Winners and Runners-up, at The Association for Visual Arts (AVA) Gallery in Cape Town from 28 October to 11 November 2017. The exhibition will also participate in First Thursdays Cape Town on 2 November 2017.

Visitors to the exhibition are encouraged to engage with the diverse range of art and design works from the competition’s various categories, namely, Fashion, Sculpture, Industrial Design, Jewellery and Film (no Architecture finalists were selected this year). A project of the innovation department of PPC Ltd, the PPC Imaginarium Awards challenges emerging artists and designers to express their creative abilities using Portland-based cement as the primary medium.

The competition, which is currently inviting entries for its 2018 round, serves as a platform for highlighting exceptional creative talent and assisting emerging artists and designers in launching their careers. Entrants stand the chance to win cash prizes to the value of R500 000, mentorships with influential leaders in the art and design industry, public exposure and more.
