University of Johannesburg Art Gallery is the first stop on PPC IMAGINARIUM’s 2019 nationwide tour

The PPC Imaginarium Awards is an annual art and design competition that showcases the talents of emerging artists and designers through the medium of concrete. Entrants compete within six categories – Architecture, Fashion, Film, Industrial Design, Jewellery and Sculpture – in pursuit of their share of an exciting R520 000 cash prize. The winners will be announced on 11 April 2019 at a special ceremony hosted at the University of Johannesburg Art Gallery.

From 12 April 2019 until 16 May 2019, the PPC Imaginarium Awards exhibition will be open to the public at the same venue. Guests will have the chance to browse the original and innovative concrete creations of all South African finalists and category winners as well as the overall winner for 2019. The PPC Imaginarium will be hosting a creative concrete workshop and educational walkabouts at the gallery.

Formal walkabouts are scheduled for Wednesday, 8 May at 13h00, Saturday, 11 May at 10h00 and Wednesday, 15 May at 13h00 at UJ Art Gallery, APK Campus Kingsway and University Road, Auckland Park.
