Neo-Fuzz Exhibition
Independent Curator Amy Ellenbogen, proudly presents ‘Neofuzz’, a Design show featuring 20 African Design Objects at ‘Also Known as Africa’ Art and Design Fair in Paris this month.
Neofuzz investigates and highlights the gloriously textured design industry in Africa and the diaspora. This show will focus on products, objects, vessels, adornments, materials and sensations that allows for a sense of play and celebration of African Design in a broad context.
Design has a rich heritage in Africa, often confused with or labeled as Craft and always steeped in anthropology, honesty and ingenuity.
Amy and her collaborators have approached this project with a sense of fun and exploration, always searching for the elements of storytelling and humanness.
The show focusses on both existing works, as well as some that are created especially for AKAA. The viewer can expect to see everyday objects like a mirror, an LP, a bag, a cell phone cover. The exhibiting designers all carry a new generation of intelligent and sustainable design, aware of the past, embracing the future and ultimately being part of the ever-shifting dialogue around Africa and Design.
