Terry spends most of his time commuting across the African continent, where he works extensively with many of Africa’s best-loved brands, including GLO, First Bank, Mansard, Barclays, Orange, SAA and Airtel. His book, Connect with the Continent, helps brands understand key consumer trends and social movements across Africa. Terry also hosts a television segment that highlights design, brand and social trends throughout Africa.
He combines his strong background in strategic consulting, commercial management and entrepreneurship with a natural innovative flair for selling ideas at the highest level.

How a Brand Became a Lifestyle
Having founded the first Tashas in Atholl, Joburg in 2005, Natasha celebrates a decade in the restaurant industry this year. With the sale of 51 percent of her shares to Famous Brands in 2008, she continues to act as Creative Director, overseeing the 13 eateries countrywide, as well as the first international Tashas that was recently launched in Dubai. Each Tashas has its own ‘inspired by…’ style and menu, including New York in Rosebank, Dutch Huguenot in Pretoria, sophisticated French bistro in Hyde Park and Spanish tapas in Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront. In her candid talk, Natasha will offer delegates an insight into her success, and how she’s created dining experiences that matter.

As a director and co-founder of Loads of Living, one of South Africa’s most specialised chain of homeware stores, Laurence has been a driving force in the growth of the local design industry through dedicated mentoring and product development and by providing appropriate platforms for designer-makers. An established expert and consultant on international and local trends and lifestyle concepts, his insights and opinions are much sought-after in the South African marketplace. Through his creative agency, Platform Creative Agency, he helps direct conceptual and commercially driven solutions for businesses and small enterprises.
Trevyn and Julian McGowan, Founders, Source SA Design Export, Southern Guild and GUILD International Design Fair
Right Product, Right Price, Right Market
Trevyn and Julian have transformed the South African design landscape over the past 12 years. Through Source, they export design product to international retailers such as Anthropologie and The Conran Shop, while through Southern Guild, their collectible design gallery, they showcase one-of-a-kind pieces at leading international design fairs like Design Miami and Design Days Dubai. They are also responsible for running Design Network Africa, and are curators of the Watershed at the V&A Waterfront, and a new retail concept in Johannesburg called Work Shop New Town. Their extensive experience of local design product and the sale thereof will provide fascinating insights during their presentation.
