Decorex Cape Town Postponed Due to COVID-19
Reed Exhibitions confirmed that Decorex Cape Town, originally planned for 30 April – 3 May 2020, will not be taking place this year. New dates have been confirmed for 2021 and the show will run from 16 -20 June 2021 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC). The decision is a result of multiple discussions with the greater industry as a result of the impact of the COVID-19 escalation and upon the advice of local and national health authorities.
Speaking of the decision not to run the show in 2020 once the COVID-19 outbreak has subsided, Sian Cullingworth, Portfolio Director at Decorex Africa, stated: “Decorex Africa seeks to act in the best interests of our industry and our society. While we understand the valuable role that Decorex Cape Town plays, the multitude of national events in the décor, design and lifestyle calendar that are planned for the latter part of the year do not favour another consumer and trade show for the industry before 2021. In the interim, digital platforms are being explored to support and connect our partners during these unprecedented times.”
Decorex Cape Town exhibitors are being contacted directly to inform them of the cancellation. The news comes in the wake of Decorex Durban’s postponement due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
“Our thoughts are with everyone who has been impacted by COVID-19,” Cullingworth continues, “and we thank all our customers and partners for their support and patience as we navigate unchartered waters.”
