Friends & Family Local Design Pop-Up

Douglas & Company set up shop in Cape Town for one month only. Located at 150 Long Street, the pop-up store will trade until 28 November 2015.

Titled FRIENDS & FAMILY, the shop celebrates contemporary South African design and is a one stop emporium for local design products, furniture, and objets d’art. Hosted by design studio Douglas & Company, the shop showcases covetable items from a range of contributors including limited edition silk scarves by L’MAD COLLECTION, illustrations by LU WEST STUDIO and RENEE ROSSOUW STUDIO, interior products by DAMN GOOD LOOKING and a selection of local design printed matter including the last few copies of Paternoster chef Kobus van der Merwe’s West Coast odyssey, Strandveldfood.


Interior items include limited editions and unique one off pieces, with many of the products not available in any other retail spaces, so early birds will have the pick of the best.

Liani Douglas of Douglas & Company says “We are using the retail platform to boost and support the work of likeminded local designers. The selection started by including family and friends doing interesting work, but quickly evolved into making new friendships with a larger network of local designers that produce items that are not available in many other retail outlets.”
