Win a Home: The Design Edition

Win a Home

Win a Home, South Africa’s favourite design and decor reality TV show is back on SABC 3 every Friday night at 19:30 starting on the 21st of August! This year Win a Home: The Design Edition has upped the ante with double the drama, reality and real estate in an extended hour long time slot.

For a prize of R100,000, fourteen aspiring interior designers go head to head in design challenges that will push them, and their imaginations to the limit. But that’s not all! Viewers stand a chance of winning weekly prizes and one very lucky Win a Home viewer, will win the Grand Prize of a brand new home in a location to be revealed in Episode Two of the show. The opportunity to win doesn’t stop there as the second prize for our viewer’s competition is the unbelievable all-new Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV and the third – R50 000 worth of LG appliances.

Hosted by the Presenter Search on 3’s “Tall Wonder”, Khanya Siyengo, Win a Home repeats on Saturdays at 16:30. Our Top 14 contestants are the interior decorator who loves to landscape Lesego Shika; freelance interior designer and adrenalin junky Glorinah Mabaso; design company owner and surfer Lance Surgeson; fashion-forward Kefiloe Sebati, carpenter and family man Siyanda Mazibuko; interior designer Jacoline Sema; music mad furniture and shoe designer Wanga Ngwane; the actress with a passion for design Renate Stuurman, entrepreneurial event management consultant Travis Hyde; street art-loving Durbanite Sifiso Shange; eco-conscious Rochelle le Roux; digital fabric printing company owner Bridgette Ramakhapele; accountant turned interior decorator Zimkhita Sidumo and ambitious interior decorating student Larochelle Janse van Rensburg.

Their battlefield is a construction site as they pick their favourite interior design themes before rolling up their sleeves to transform three Win a Home units into living spaces that will be the definition of cutting edge design meets style. Contestants will have to team up to tackle design tasks on tight deadlines, but there can only be one winner, so they’ll also have to participate in individual challenges against their team mates. Winning will grant them a few more weeks on Win a Home and losing will push them one step closer to going back to their own homes.

Speaking on behalf of one of the sponsors, Tim Akinnusi, Head of Sales and Client Management at Nedbank Home Loans says, ‘Nedbank is delighted to once again partner with the prestigious Win a Home show for the second year running. Each week Win a Home will visit a top South African designer, from product designers responsible for your favourite lamp, to designers who make you want to live in their homes, and invite you into their creative process. These designers will join our judges, Plascon’s Colour Manager Anne Roselt and Simon Bray, the CEO of Private Property.

‘Private Property is privileged to once again be involved in Win a Home. Last year’s show was exciting from start to finish; watching young designers blossom, profiling beautiful homes from across South Africa and ultimately changing the lives of our top three contestants.
