Award-winning, industry leader Carrol Boyes Wines releases a South African-branded, limited-edition Champagne label approved by the committee of Champagne!

In what can only be termed a wine industry coup, Carrol Boyes Wines is proud to announce the addition of fine Champagne to the Carrol Boyes Limited Edition range. Made in France, the newly released Champagne celebrates quality, style, excellence and authenticity and is made in partnership with Charbaut, a three-generations old French family vineyard, which was established in 1936 on the hillsides of Champagne country. The Carrol Boyes Iconic Champagne label was officially approved for release by the Committee of Champagne. Delicately balanced and patiently matured, this Limited Edition comprises only 1000 bottles, ensuring a precious legacy for future generations.

Not only is Carrol Boyes Iconic Champagne the latest addition to the award-winning Carrol Boyes Wines range, it is an extension of the Carrol Boyes homeware brand. The wines embody the Carrol Boyes lifestyle and are created jointly by renowned designer, Carrol Boyes, and her brother, John Boyes, together with his business partner, Neels Barnardt, both of Barnardt Boyes. In the same way as Carrol designs and manufactures distinctive functional art pieces for the home, so Barnardt Boyes turns ancient soils and fair climates into sumptuous wines with rich sensory appeal.

Carrol Boyes Wines’ resident wine-maker, Hendrik Snyman regularly receives industry accolades – his locally produced MCC won the Michelangelo International Wine & Spirits Awards MCC Trophy in 2015. But after already having produced a highly successful MCC, Snyman turned his sights to Champagne. His pre-existing relationship with the Charbaut family created the opportunity to release authentic Champagne that would amplify the Carrol Boyes reputation for superb gifting and high-quality craftsmanship. The resulting Carrol Boyes Iconic Champagne is, according to the Charbaut family, the culmination of “a decade of friendship”.

In 2007, Snyman resided with the Charbaut family and was taught the art of crafting champagne, the authentic French way. As a young apprentice, the experience had a marked impact on his authentic approach and passion for fine wines. He has journeyed back and forth since then. In order to create this new signature Champagne for Carrol Boyes, Snyman worked in collaboration with Charbaut, bridging the link between craftsmanship, history and art.

The limited-edition vintage is a celebration of matured chardonnay grown in the prestigious Grand and Premier Cru vineyards of Champagne, consisting of 100% Chardonnay. The grapes are carefully selected and picked when perfectly ripe, then immediately pressed and left for 11 years on the lees, to ensure excellent balance between grape character and aging, endowing this Champagne with a fine and delicate effervescence that pleases and excites the palate.

Over 80 years of family winemaking history and a friendship that spans two continents has come together to create the unique and authentic celebratory Champagne that is the Carrol Boyes Iconic Champagne. This limited edition is available online via www.carrolboyeswines.com and at the Carrol Boyes flagship store in Somerset West, Cape Town.
